When being chased, especially by a bear, you can evade by unstucking. When you are in 3rd person and swimming, you can freelook and hit the animal without facing it. Making the base, grinding for materials (to some extent) is fun and makes up the games identity. Even if there are some errors such as dumb AI, it is fun to play after all. In conclusion, Icarus is a fun game to play, when it performs properly. Focus the performance issues and then keep adding new elements to the game. (dog)Waterworks seem to make farming and building more complicated and therefore making the game more fun (?) Keep doing it this way. ![]() (Almost) every update changes or adds something to the game that makes it fascinating. Every week a smile appears on my face, when I see theres a new update to the game. The way you update the game every week is remarkable. I believe this game has huge potential after fixing performance issues and making the Animal AI better (How to make it better, you might ask? Perhaps the predators could attack herbivores, its ridiculous how a wolf can compeletely ignore a deer next to him) This being said I wish you luck with making the game more realistic Animal AI-wise.Īlso, I really appreciate your commitment to the game. Let me be clear Once I land, the game is clear as a limestone spring but after an hour of two (especially with a friend in a multiplayer) I need to state that im trying to gain clarity (fps-wise) I understand that every game has its own performance issues but this is something else. This is totally unacceptable from a company that claims to be a AAA studio. Especially when a thunderstorm starts a forest fire, then my fps goes down, I can literaly count my fps with only one hand. I don't know a much about coding a game but I believe that the issue behind all of this stands behind the fact that maybe a tree falls and glitches through the ground and that way maybe your PC has to render multiple glitched trees and leaves. But after some time like after building a base with double furnace strategy the game starts to exponentially drop fps and it stays this way the whole game (restart doesnt work, DX 11 and 12 have been tried, dropping down the settings doesnt work.) Especially in multiplayer. Once I land on the planet, the game usually runs around 100 fps, which is very fine. My main issue with the game however is the poor performance. Getting stuff in the 3rd tier is fine but in the 4th its just a grind and a waste time. ![]() Refigerator (no need to use it when you have always 20 wolves that can be killed and cooked), Animal AI breaks the immersion (they just walk around and aggressive mobs only target you, like shouldnt wolves attack deers?), The grind in the 4th tier is insane. After 80ish ours of this game with a relatively high end gaming PC (2070 and ryzen 5 3600) I can tell that I personally like the game's design, even though some design choices are absolutely dogwater, e.g.
